On my first day in Frisco, Colorado, I hiked up Mount Royal with my bag of heavy camera gear despite the altitude. On one of many stops to catch my breath, I saw sun-bathed aspens glowing against the shadow of the mountain on the valley behind them. The contrast was immediate and striking.
